Participate In Art (PIA) or simply known as “pARTicipate” was launched in January 2019 after its success as the event and artist support arm of Architectural Impressions (Archiimp) since mid 2016. It was created following a real and proven need by artists, creator and the arts community for greater opportunities and awareness of their work, lack of availability of higher end quality ‘Arts’ events and cost effective opportunities.

Since then we have helped over 300 artists through more than 80 different events.

We provide a range of services and opportunities to artists, artisans, buyers, art enthusiasts as well as businesses and organisations. Through curation of exhibitions, galleries, artist mentoring, talks, workshops, supplier partnerships and events, we increase the awareness and accessibility of the arts. pARTicipate marries buyers with artists and assist businesses in generating revenue through the inclusion and presentation of art.

In a very short period of time, PIA has become established as a valued asset, not just for individual artist’s portfolios but for communities and businesses, delivering robust opportunities sales and increased contact networks that they were unable to achieve directly.

The ongoing success of the Mentoring Programme has highlighted the lack of guidance and assistance for new, budding and even experienced artists on how to take the next step. How to convert their hobby or passion to something more substantial. They may have been creating work alongside their existing job and want to stop work altogether to follow their art or become more productive given the additional freedom retirement can bring.

Even fine art degrees and post graduate courses don’t teach you how to find suitable galleries and exhibitions, what is expected of gallery owners and of you, how to present and display your work, the legal regulations online interaction, promotion and mail listings or how to actually make a living from the art you create.

You may think your work is not up to standard or haven’t created enough of it. Showing someone your work for the first time can be a very scary prospect – we all want everyone to love our work! You may be looking for gallery space or information on how to present your work, or to convert your hobby into a full-time profession.

Run and operated by Chris Oxlade-Arnott, who is not just an art lover and part-time garden furniture designer, he has had many years’ experience in the service and retail sectors, is a proven business strategist and events curator. Chris has vast experience in commercial business working with local and central government, emergency services, Ministries of Defence and Justice which has given him an ability to focus on and deliver robust communication, scope compliance and time critical projects, as well as working at all levels, abilities and pace.

pARTicipate will be launching its Annual PIA Membership Scheme in 2020 to offer participating members a fleet of services and opportunities tailored to their needs.
