The inaugural Worcester Hop Festival will be taking place in The Hopmarket, off The Foregate, Worcester, WR1 – The first Hop Festival in Worcester for over 40 years!!!
A free entry ‘hop’ themed event with live and interactive entertainment for all ages. The event will include an outside bar run by the The The Cardinals Hat, a cocktail bar run by The Paul Pry including some very interesting hop based cocktails!! Participate In Art (PIA) will be presenting an Art Exhibition and Spoken Word (Suz Winspear) performances based on the hops, beer and the hop trading. Sarah Edwards of Spare Room Arts will be providing entertainment for the children and young adults. Know your hop interactive talk and demonstrations, entertainment from Morris Dancers, Ukulele Band and the amazing Wymsical Theatre, as well as hop and hop market/auction memorabilia and artefacts. There will be a quiz competition for all ages.
What a great day to be making a little bit of history!! There will be performances and entertainment throughout the day, so something for everyone, from beer tasting, hop cocktails to dancing.
The Hop Market is a historical site and was once the main centre of hop trading for the midlands and beyond, the beautiful courtyard and surrounding buildings were also a bank and hotel, now owned and renovated by the City Council and run by The Hopmarket Charity for the benefit of people in need, it houses an array of independent traders, small businesses and cafes.
Design for all ages and all mobility the Worcester Hop Festival is a free to enter event.
Director of PIA, Chris Oxlade-Arnott said:“The idea of bringing back the Hop Festival in Worcester is fantastic, This small but beautiful area of Worcester City, close to Foregate Station and the High Street, is full of independent shops and cafes – quite unique really nowadays. It’s the first year so I hope that it will do well and that it’ll be the start of a something special again”.
The Hop Festival Art Exhibition and Spoken Word Event hosted by Participate in Art will be located at the 16 The Hopmarket, The Foregate, Worcester, WR1 3QD will be open throughout the festival and will be presenting a number of artists and their works as well as poetry and spoken word performances based on a beer/hop theme in the courtyard.
1. Full Space: Dedicated Wall Space for hanging (6ft wide) with a table (6ft long). Only £20.00 for the event, (NO COMMISSION) Table can be removed if not needed.
2. Half Space: Shared Space for hanging (3ft wide) with a table (half share in 6ft table). Only £15.00 for the whole event (NO COMMISSION)
3. Table Top Only: Table (6ft long). Only £12.50 for the event (NO COMMISSION)Spaces are limited and provided on a first come first served basis.
Note:
Table and table covers provided by PIA
Wall hanging may be done with nails, pictures to be strung or similar
Artists to set up own display, use own fixtures
Set up on Friday 20th and breakdown on Sunday 22nd (PIA flexible on logistics – to be discussed directly with artist)
Optional Extra: PIA to set up display on behalf of artist is charged at £10.00
Artists will be vetted for suitability

Artists are responsible for the integrity of the data provided·
Artists agree that PIA may use these images, logos and wording for the promotion of this event (only)·

Artists to provide name (band name), top level description (music type), statement (information they want the public to know about you), contact details (to be promoted by PIA – web, SM) and a set of images (as many as they wish)·

Product:
Artists agree that PIA may promote and sell all delivered product on their behalf·
The Artist is responsible for the quality and workmanship of the product, ensuring they are free from defect or damages (unless clearly stated otherwise) and have passed all relevant standards for sales of goods to the UK market·
Artists are responsible for ensuring that it has the authority to offer these goods to PIA for resale·
PIA has the right to refuse to promote material and or product that it deems to be offensive or inflammatory·
No perishable products are to be submitted
Ownership:
Ownership of all product remains with the Artist until the product has been legally purchased by the consumer·
PIA is a temporary guardian of the Artist product for the purpose of this event only
Product Pricing & Description Marking:·
All product delivered to be marked in such a way as to be simple for the public to know its price and identification (such as pricing label on each item, swing tag, a display card with pricing, display box clearly marked etc.)
Inventory:
Artist to provide (email in advance or with delivery) an inventory of all delivered product.
Inventory Note:·
‘In and Out’ columns will be used by PIA to stock audit delivered product (incoming) and end of event remaining product·
All pricing are end user pricing, and Artists need to allow any charges applicable credit card usage charges·
Credit card usage charges for use of PIA’s mobile card system is 1.75%. Charges only applies if the item is purchased with a credit card, this charge does not apply to cash sales·
PIA will undertake an entry audit of all delivered product, any differences to Artist inventory will be resolved priory to item being released for sale
Sales Record:
PIA will produce a daily sales record (internal use only – not sent to artist)·
At the close of the event PIA will send a closing report to each artist detailing the products, costs and final funds due.
Payment:
All funds (excluding fees and charges – see sales record) will be transfers via BACs to the Artist chosen account no later than four days after the event closure. This is to allow the clearance of any credit card transactions by the credit card company·
On a case by case basis funds may be paid on collection of product
Returning Product:
The Artist is responsible for the collection/shipment of unsold product·
Delivery by PIA may be arranged on a case by case bases with prior agreement
Guarantee:
PIA can make no guarantee of footfall numbers or of estimated sales during the Event·
PIA will promote the event as much as is practicable·
PIA will actively promote each participating artist equally·
All records and data given to PIA is controlled and managed through its GDPR policy (available to download via http://www.participateinart.com)·
PIA holds integrity in the highest regard and always looks after the best interests of its artists and partners·
PIA will not offer any price discount or multiple purchase offers without prior formal consent of the Artist
