Providing opportunities, support and mentoring to artists & creators
PIA have teamed up with the Worcestershire LitFest to create an illustration Exhibition to sit alongside the book shop and live performances, to show off the illustrative talents of our artists to publishers and writers.
Illustrations really make a writers work step off the page and capture the imagination of the reader more than the spoken words alone.
Come and see the amazing works by some leading and up and coming private illustrators. Colin Clark, Bic Beaumont, Jadu Sheridan, James Williams and Richard Delingpole.
Bic Beaumont
Growing up in Shropshire, I was fortunate to be surrounded by creativity; I got my first camera before I was ten years old, snapping everything and anything as well as painting the animals and the surrounding countryside.
I went to Birmingham School of Art to study fine art as a mature student, where I worked in paint and mixed media creating large scale abstract and illustrative pieces. After a hiatus away from art during which time I worked in marketing and events for educational and charitable organisations, I created bright illustrative paintings for a couple of prosthetic leg projects and using photographs I’d previously taken as inspiration, worked on drawings and painting.
Several years ago, I moved to Worcestershire and joined a local life drawing class, which led to the Open Studios and other local opportunities before looking further afield and exploring other avenues for displaying my artwork.
Over the years my art practice has evolved as I’ve learnt new techniques and pushed to improve myself, as well as being inspired by the amazing work of artists around me and discovered what I truly enjoy creating. My current work mainly revolves around painting, print making and photography, using nature and animals as my inspiration, with lots of bright, bold colours and a little bit of sparkle to create the characters of my pieces. I want my pieces to make you smile or chuckle and for some, transport you to a simpler, kinder world.
